SmartMouth Mouthwash Review + $2 Off Coupon

I am one of those people who is terrified of having bad breath. I ALWAYS had mints, gum and breath spray when I was in high school, college and the working world. I STILL want to make sure that I don't have stinky breath of course so I'm always on the lookout for any oral hygiene products that will help me with my dream of waking up every morning with fresh, kissable breath like the cool people in the movies. Honestly, every time I see a movie scene where the characters are kissing right after waking up, it makes me a little nauseous because it some cases, they were up drinking all night and I never saw them brush their teeth - and don't even get me started on Lost and that island breath!
But let me get back to the point of this post.
I was given the opportunity a few weeks ago to review SmartMouth Mouthwash. The reason I was so excited about reviewing SmartMouth is the claim that it not only kills bad breath, it keeps your breath fresh for at least 12 hours! NO MORE MORNING BREATH. I immediately agreed and couldn't wait to get started on the review.
About: from their site, "SmartMouth Mouthwash stops bad breath in its tracks. SmartMouth Mouthwash works to eliminate existing bad breath and prevents it from coming back. With its patented and clinically proven zinc-ion technology, SmartMouth Mouthwash doesn't just freshen your breath, it keeps you fresh for at least 12 hours. All day fresh breath! No more morning breath!
How does SmartMouth work? Just rinse twice a day for all day fresh breath. Rinse in the morning and have fresh breath all day, rinse at night and wake up without dreaded morning breath. SmartMouth is the only mouthwash that uses a patented zinc-ion technology to not only freshen your breath at the time of use, but to keep bad breath from coming back for 12 hours. The unique two-bottle, two-pump formula means that you activate SmartMouth each time you use it, giving you maximum strength and freshness every time you swish."
My SmartMouth Experience: SmartMouth is different than other mouthwashes I've used in that it has to be mixed together. You get two bottles, two pumps and a little cup to mix the two formulas together. I unscrewed the lids, put on the pumps and mixed the formulas according to the instructions: 3 pumps of each bottle into the cup. Then I vigorously swished and swirled and rinsed for a full minute. AHHHH. I liked it. Then there was a little bit of an odd after taste but hey - if my breath was still feeling even a bit minty the next morning, it would be worth it.
Next Morning: Fresher Breath! I know this because my daughter is a world champion bad breath detector. She said that my breath smelled much better than it normally did in the morning. So I brushed my teeth and went through my mixing ritual and the after taste didn't seem as bad that time.
So to make a long story short, I used SmartMouth Mouthwash for nearly two weeks. I loved it. I felt more confident about my breath and didn't feel the need to constantly chew gum or mints if I was talking to someone - I was loving the SmartMouth effect. Then disaster struck. Since the lids on the bottles have to be replaced with pumps, SmartMouth isn't very easy to travel with. The bottles had only been packed for a few minutes when I noticed the pleasant, minty aroma wafting from my bag. One whole bottle was almost emptied. I took them out, cleaned the bag then a few hours later I walked in my room and my daughter had been doing some of her dance moves and she'd knocked them back over in my floor and that was it. No more SmartMouth Mouthwash for me - at least  until I find a bottle around this tiny town. I have looked for SmartMouth at a few retailers in my area but I haven't been able to find it. I DID just learn that I can order it from Drugstore.com so that's a plus. I think that I would like to give some of the other SmartMouth products a try as well!
So, now I've told you what I loved, here are a couple of things that I didn't love so much:  the after taste which is probably from the zinc, seemed really strong on some days but barely detectable on others. Also, SmartMouth seemed to really dry out my mouth after rinsing. I mean I could've downed a half gallon of cold water some nights because it made me so incredibly thristy.
The Verdict:To me, the pros outweighed the cons. So I do recommend SmartMouth Mouthwash.
Buy It: Download a coupon for $2 Off and Find a Retailer Near You that carries SmartMouth. OR as I just learned, you can purchase SmartMouth from Drugstore.com
