Cahootie Toys are a modern and durable version of the folded paper "Fortune Teller" or "Cootie Catcher" games that we used to make when we were little. This new version is made from rip resistant material and comes with 40 re-positionable fun quiz or "fortune" stickers. Some themes include: Sporty Girls, Wishes & Dreams, Birthday Wishes and Truth or Dare.  We came across Cahootie's line of games when we were at the mall a few weeks ago and the girls - ages 5 and 7 - loved them. I knew that I would be reviewing these cute toys soon but I went ahead and bought them one because: 1)the girls loved them, 2)I knew they would occupy them on the ride home and 3) they were under $5 after my Justice coupon discount!

My Take:  We love Cahootie! Cahootie is an inexpensive game that sparks conversations about fond memories from the past, plus it is a fun way to learn new, interesting facts about your kids, friends and family!! 

I took the Cahootie to a church social function and the grown ups played with it as much as the kids did. Everyone kept saying things like, "I remember when we made these in school!" or "OH how cute! I forgot about these!"  I found it to be a fantastic game that encourages social interaction. Breaking out the Cahootie is the perfect way to break the ice at parties because it encourages everyone to communicate while having a fantastic time. My daughter is five and she can't read the questions that come with the Cahootie but she still loves playing with it and answering the questions when we read them to her. Even the boys enjoyed Cahootie and we all had a blast with the fun questions and answers.

The recommended ages for Cahootie are 7-12 and I agree with these guidelines. While younger kids do have fun playing along, the older kids easily grasped the concept and they could read the questions with no problems. The questions are on re-positionable stickers and the Birthday Diva Cahootie includes questions similar to these: What is your favorite part about your birthday? If you could invite anyone in the world to your party, who would you invite? What is your favorite kind of birthday cake? 

I love that the questions help you learn fun things about your friends and family. I also found that the questions led us to conversations about our memories, favorite things and our wishes for the future. What a perfect game for a family night. Also, the price is great at just $5.99-you can't beat that! I can't wait until my daughter's upcoming birthday party - Cahootie will be a fantastic way to get the party going!
